North Ocean Photonics is a high-tech company specializing in wafer-level optics and optical integration, with its R&D and production center located in the Lingang, Shanghai, China. Leveraging its technical expertise and high-precision manufacturing processes, North Ocean Photonics is committed to exploring innovative applications in cutting-edge photonics.
At its Lingang base, the company has established nearly 10,000 square meters of cleanroom space and MP platforms, along with quality control and IT platforms, complemented by professional team. This enables a complete closed-loop IDM system encompassing R&D design, master fabrication, mass production, and quality control. After rigorous factory audits and quality control certifications from leading international clients, the company has become one of the few in the wafer-level optics field to achieve shipments exceeding tens of millions of products. It has also established a relatively complete intellectual property closed-loop.
In the field of innovative optical applications, North Ocean Photonics currently offers three continually improving product lines: micro/nano optics and machine vision, augmented reality (AR) displays, and automotive and lidar. These product lines have been successfully integrated into leading domestic and international clients:
1. Micro/Nano Optics and Machine Vision: Since 2019, the company’s 3D imaging wafer-level components have been continuously mass-produced in top-tier international smartphones, with shipments exceeding tens of millions.
2. AR Diffractive Waveguides: The company’s AR waveguide series has been successfully adopted by multiple top-tier domestic terminal manufacturers, international internet companies, and notable AR industry unicorns. By 2024, North Ocean Photonics had accumulated shipments of over 300,000 pairs of AR diffractive waveguides.
3. Automotive and Lidar: Related products began successful integration into leading domestic new energy vehicles in 2022, making North Ocean one of the few companies in this niche to achieve IATF 16949 automotive quality certification.
