The 24th China International Optoelectronic Expo (CIOE) was held in Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center (Bao'an New Venue) from September 6-8, 2023, and KunYou Photonics brought its full range of newest products to Hall 6A95 to carry out the exhibition. During the period, Dr. Lou Xinye, R&D Director of KUNYU Optronics, was interviewed by the reporter and introduced KUNYU's three major product series and product highlights in detail.
Highlights of CIOE KUNYOU booth
Shanghai KunYou Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. has been focusing on the R&D and manufacturing of wafer-level optical products since its establishment, and has been promoting the widespread implementation of wafer-level optical products, which are lighter and thinner than traditional optical products, in consumer electronics and automotive electronics. So far, KunYou Optronics has established a complete closed loop of R&D and mass production, including R&D and design, mastering, mass production and quality control, and is an enterprise with a complete IDM model.
In terms of products, KUNYU Optronics has formed three mature product lines, micro-nano optics and machine vision, AR diffractive optical waveguide, and fiber optics.
For the micro-nano optics product line, KUNYU Optronics has several major product types including diffractive optics, microlens arrays, Fresnel lenses, and FILM sheets, which can meet the needs of 3D sensing, illumination, spotlighting, homogenization, and projection. Relying on the complete IDM model, KunYou's front-end design and process capability can support the rapid validation of new products, and the back-end mass production capability can guarantee the high-volume delivery of products. Since 2019, KunYou has been continuously supplying flagship models for internationally renowned cell phone terminals.
In this exhibition, KunYou brings several AR diffractive optical waveguide products with outstanding highlights: the Autumn Water, Easy, Dream Butterfly and Fuyao series. Each of these four products has its own focus in terms of performance, appearance and cost, which can meet the diversified needs of customers in different application areas. The waveguide products of Fusheng II have reached 800nits/lm in efficiency, which makes the image brightness after combining the waveguide and the optical machine reach 2000, 3000nits, and can meet the application of outdoor scenes. The Dreamfly series has achieved the ultra-slim design of 0.9mm, and the weight is only about 4g. The single-green Easy and resin-based Qiushui series have achieved waveguide efficiencies of 400~500nits/lm, supporting comfortable wear in all-weather and all-scene applications.
Fiber optics has achieved large-scale mass production in two industries, in the vehicle LIDAR, 905/1550nm receiver and transmitter modules have been imported into the domestic well-known new energy vehicle models from 2022, to achieve vehicle-grade mass production. In the field of high-speed communication, optical interconnection and data center, KunYou can provide TOSA/ROSA fiber optic modules and micro-optics and other device solutions.
Future trends and market forecasts
We at KunYou are always optimistic about and focused on the wafer-level optics track. Traditional optics are very mature, but face a series of challenges such as volume and weight, especially in the consumer electronics field. In terms of the overall trend, everyone wants all products to be light, thin and low cost. Therefore, we believe that wafer-level optics have the core competitiveness of the product, and then we will continue to focus on product performance and mass production capabilities to better serve customers.
